Queen of Peace Bakery will once participate in the Ebensburg Potato Fest - 9 a.m.-5 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 27. As in past years, our stands will be in the grassy area across from the Matevish Home, North Center Street. Looking forward to seeing you! --- To prepare for this big fundraiser, we will need all the help we can get. From baking, packaging, and transporting the goodies to their locations, we *need* all hands on deck!! For the Potato Fest, we will begin wrapping Baked Goods beginning the week of September 22. *Please Call the Parish Office [Office hours: Mon. & Fri.: 9-3; Tues., Wed., Thurs.: 9-12 noon] for a more specific time and day when help is needed. The Patton Volunteer Fire Co., #1 will again provide the annual Fire Prevention event for home-schooled families on Monday, October 13. This event will consist of individual presentations for elementary age, teenage, and adult participants. The program will begin at 10:30 a.m. and last until approx. 1 p.m. at the Fire Station (410 Magee Avenue, Patton). Sandwiches and bottled water will be provided; you may also bring your own lunch. St. Demetrius Annual Chicken BBQ Dinner and Fall Festival will be held on Sunday, September 28, in the Parish Activity Center (formerly St. Mary’s Hall). Dinner includes ½ BBQ chicken, green beans, potato, roll and dessert. Dinners are available for dine-in or take-out for $14.00 each, and will be served from 11 a. m. until sold out. In addition to the meal, a rummage sale, baked goods, games and a basket raffle will be held.
