Each Sunday evening at 7 p.m., during the Advent Season (December 1, 8, 15, & 22), the last "hour" of the Divine Office will be prayed here at Queen of Peace Church. Night Prayer consists of a hymn, 3 Psalms, a brief reading from Scripture, the Nunc Dimittis of Simeon, & a concluding prayer. +++ Please make room on your busy schedule for a soothing 35 minutes of prayer. If you have never attended, please try just one week. Advent begins on Sun., Dec. 1.
The CCD Students will be packaging Christmas gift bags, which will be distributed to the home bound, patients in personal care homes or nursing homes, or to anyone who needs a “little pick-me-up.” If you have someone in mind, please stop by the Parish Office, during open office hours, & pick one up. (They will be distributed on a first-come basis.) The Students will be delivering their gifts to the Hummingbird Estates on Sun., Dec. 8.
The 2019 “Choir of Angels” Ornament is on order. You may pre-order yours by calling the Parish Office. The ornament will stay the same price at $20. All previous ornaments are on display in the Parish Office & are for sale at $10 each/ buy another for 1⁄2 price.
There will be a Mass of Thanksgiving, on Wed., Nov. 27, at 7 p.m. All are asked to bring a non-perishable food item(s) to Mass & participate in the Offertory procession. Food items will be collected by the St. Vincent de Paul to be given to the needy in our area. In addition, there will be a collection for the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Please mark “Thanksgiving” on your envelope for the collection. May God Bless You for your generosity.
The Advent Giving Tree is sponsored by the Queen of Peace Conference of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, to help provide a brighter Christmas for the children of our clients. Please take a tag(s), only if your means allow. Last year, 5 tags were not returned with gifts, but thanks for the generosity of several Parishioners, who at the last minute went shopping so the kids would not be disappointed. The tags are merely ideas & suggestions, you don’t have to purchase everything listed. --- *Please don’t leave the gifts in the Church, bring them to the Parish Office by 3 p.m., Fri., Dec. 6. **Please attach the tag from the tree onto the package.**
