"...The concept of Mary untying knots is derived from a work by St. Irenaeus of Lyons, "Adversus haereses" ("Against Heresies"). In Book III, Chapter 22, he presents a parallel between Eve and Mary, describing how 'the knot of Eve's disobedience was loosed by the obedience of Mary. For what the virgin Eve had bound fast through unbelief, this did the virgin Mary set free through faith.'..." +++ July 28 is the feast day of St. Irenaeus. +++ Image: Johann Georg Schmidtner, Year c. 1700 +++ Copy and paste the following link to read more of this Wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary,_Untier_of_Knots

"'God our Father, through the intercession of St. Joseph, foster Father of Your Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, we give You thanks and praise for all Fathers in the world. We pray for them so that they may find courage and perseverance to balance work, family and faith in joy and sacrifice. We ask You for an ever-increasing faithful and generous love of Fathers to their wives and children. We ask that they be authentic Christian Fathers seeking holiness so as to attain happiness here on earth and in Heaven. We pray for those whose children are lost or are suffering; may they know that the God of compassion walks with them in their sorrow. We pray for men, especially our dear Priest and Monks, who exercise their paternity in a spiritual way and guide others with fatherly concern and advice. We remember our Fathers, Grandfathers and Godfathers who are no longer with us but who live forever in our memory and nourish us with their love. Bless them and may they rest in peace. Amen...' - Catholicsstrivingforholiness.org" --Parish Bulletin, June 20, 2021
